End of Rushmoor Smart Card scheme

We're replacing all our pay-and-display machines in March and April 2017 with new machines that will offer a wider choice of ways to pay, including pay by phone, debit and credit card and bank cards registered to a mobile phone.
With more payment choice available and as the smartcard technology is now outdated, we are ending the Rushmoor Smartcard scheme.

How this affects your smartcard

If you have a smartcard, we would encourage you to continue to use it until we replace the machines.
As the replacement of the machines will be phased, we realise that in time, it will limit the locations where you can use your smartcard.
If you would therefore like a refund of the balance on your smartcard, please bring it into the council offices. Our opening hours are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.30pm to 4.30pm, Friday.
We will offer a refund on the balance of your smartcard until 31 October 2017.

Alternatives to the smartcard

If you use our car parks regularly to park all day and have been using the smartcard to buy tickets, you can transfer to parking permits as a way of making parking easier. This removes the need to buy a ticket from our machines. You can buy weekly, monthly or annual permits. You can find more details on our Car park permits page.

Over-65s' parking concession

As we are ending the Rushmoor smartcard, we have withdrawn the over-65s' parking concession.
You can continue to use the smartcard until we replace the machines.
If you claimed the concession, (you paid £25 and we credited the smartcard with £50), you will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the remaining balance, as we are unable to refund the free parking concession.
Again, you can come into the council offices to receive a refund until 31 October.

Lost cards

If you lose your card, please let us know straight away so we can put a stop on your card.

Personal information

The cards do not carry any personal information, but when you bought a card we would have asked for your name, address and telephone number. This will help us to identify you if the card is lost.
If you are a business, we keep a record of your company name. We don't normally hold details about the individual members of staff using the cards.
